Dominated by the legacy of William Shakespeare and nestling on the western bank of the River Avon is the historic market town of Stratford upon Avon. Shakespeare was born here more than 4 centuries ago and his legacy lives on, most noticeably by the stage shows of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
